Students go outside (or observe through a window) to notice current weather conditions using their senses. They look for clouds, sunshine, wind movement, puddles, and temperature feelings (hot/cold). Students also observe what classmates and adults are wearing. The teacher charts observations with simple weather icons and sketches student clothing choices on chart paper.

Preparation (1 item)
- Prepare a weather observation chart with icons for different conditions (sun, clouds, rain) and drawing space for clothing.
Student-facing instructions
You will go outside or look out a window to notice what the weather is like today. Feel the air, look at the clouds and sky, and notice what people are wearing. Later, you will talk in a circle about what you saw and why it's important for choosing clothes. Finally, you’ll help draw on a chart what we all noticed.
