Students share their revised prototype with their 5th-grade buddy (in person or via recorded video). Buddies respond with one praise and one suggestion focused on clarity of the weather pattern and outfit match. Teacher records simple usability notes with smiley/straight face icons to show if the buddy could easily choose what to wear.

# What teachers do
1 ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Gather students in a circle and explain that today we will be sharing our weather guides with our 5th-grade buddies. (5 min)
2 ๐ŸŽจ Have students finish their drawings or add final touches to their Weather Wardrobe Forecast Guides. Encourage them to think about what their 5th-grade buddy might want to know. (10 min)
3 โœ‰๏ธ Students present their guides to their 5th-grade buddies, either in person or via video. Buddies respond with one thing they liked and one suggestion for improvement. (15 min)
4 ๐Ÿ“ As each presentation happens, record feedback using smiley/straight face icons to show how well the buddy could understand the guide. (5 min)
5 ๐Ÿค” Discuss as a group what feedback was received and how it can help improve our guides. Encourage kids to share what they learned from the buddy's suggestions. (2 min)
Preparation (3 items)
  • Arrange for 5th-grade buddies to be available, either in person or via video call. Prepare recording devices if needed.
  • Print out smiley and straight face icons for recording feedback.
  • Set up a display area where students can easily share their guides.
Student-facing instructions
Your task is to finish your Weather Wardrobe Forecast Guide and present it to your 5th-grade buddy. You will receive a praise and a suggestion from your buddy. Listen carefully and think about how you can improve your guide!
