In small groups, students take turns presenting their model for 1 minute. Peers give one compliment and one suggestion using sentence frames: “I noticed…” and “Maybe you could add…”. Each child receives feedback from at least two peers and tells the group one change they plan to make.

1 Gather in a circle and explain the activity using visual aids to show sentence frames “I noticed…” and “Maybe you could add…”. (5 min)
2 Students take turns presenting their plant models to the group, each having 1 minute to share. (10 min)
3 Peers provide a compliment and a suggestion using the given sentence frames. Each student receives feedback from at least two peers. (10 min)
4 Movement break: Stretch or sing a plant-related song to re-energize. (5 min)
5 Each student shares one change they plan to make to improve their model, noting any peer suggestions. (10 min)
Preparation (3 items)
  • Prepare visual aids with sentence frames 'I noticed…' and ‘Maybe you could add…'.
  • Ensure each student has their model ready for presentation.
  • Set up a comfortable area for the feedback circle where students can freely move around.
Student-facing instructions
You will sit in a circle with your classmates and show them your plant model. Explain what it does for one minute. Your peers will each give you one compliment and one suggestion to help you make your model even better. You will listen to their ideas and choose one change to make to your model.
