Deliverable
Charcoal Vision POV
Submission Required
Students will engage in a short direct conversation with a local Indigenous artist or elder to understand how charcoal art honors Indigenous histories and supports personal creative expression. In small groups, they will craft a user-centered problem definition by drafting a point-of-view (POV) statement from a stakeholder’s perspective, generating How Might We (HMW) questions to explore design possibilities, creating concise user persona profiles, and mapping a simple problem tree or systems map that connects cultural significance, material practices, and creative outcomes. The deliverable will document their research, artifacts, and how these insights will guide their upcoming charcoal art explorations.
