In teams, they sort ingredients into “safe and helpful,” “safe but not helpful,” and “harmful,” orally summarizing the main idea of one nutrition text before deciding. They practice adding two or three ingredient prices using mental math strategies (make ten, doubles) to estimate total treat cost. Teams record number sentences and explain how cost and health affect which ideas move forward.
