🌍 Mystery Plate Map Quest

Students rotate through a hands-on launch that combines sealed ingredient bags or photo cards, a large world map, and a brief family dish share. In small groups, they sort ingredients by likely origin, place picture cards on the map with yarn routes, and listen to a short provocation from a local chef, food truck owner, or teacher-shared video clip about sourcing, cost, and sustainability. The class closes by naming the driving question, choosing one dish category to investigate later, and recording 2 notice/wonder ideas on sticky notes or picture cards about where ingredients come from, who cares about sourcing, and what makes a food truck choice responsible.
