First Position Statement

Students work individually to draft an Initial Position Statement in response to the central question. Each statement includes a clear, arguable claim, a personal connection or stake in the issue, and initial reasoning that connects to the sources reviewed in the launch. They will cite at least two credible sources, briefly justify their credibility, and summarize key evidence. The statement should also outline one counterargument the student anticipates and a defense strategy to respond. This deliverable aligns with the Claim Quality focus, and will seed subsequent inquiry and critique as they study propaganda, rhetoric, and historical influences on communication.
