Students collect and organize data from their crystal-growing experiments during the session. Each small group uses a shared data kit (data table, observation log, field notes sheet, photo checklist) to record independent and dependent variables, environmental conditions, and growth measurements. They capture both quantitative data (sizes, masses, times) and qualitative observations (color, shape, clarity) with photographs and notes. Outputs include raw data tables/records, observation logs, field notes, photographs/documentation, and interview transcripts (if applicable). Groups ensure data quality through consistent units, calibration notes, and a brief reflection on potential confounding factors and limitations.
