Students work individually to translate their curiosities into a clear investigable question. They use graphic organizers to record initial observations and wonderings, assemble a concise background research summary, and refine their research question(s). If time allows, they draft a hypothesis or prediction and outline a plan for how they will collect data, laying groundwork for a rigorous crystal-growth investigation.
