Preparation (3 items)
- Prepare pictures or real samples of plants with roots, stems, leaves, and flowers/seeds.
- Set up a large anchor chart with categories for different plant parts and their functions.
- Create simple labels for the plant parts and functions for students to use on the anchor chart.
Student-facing instructions
You will work with your friends to explore the different parts of a plant. Look at the plants or pictures to find the roots, stems, leaves, and flowers. Talk with your friends about how each part helps the plant to live. After talking, sort the plant parts by what they do, and stick them to our big chart in the classroom to show what you learned.
