Purpose

In this senior project, you will delve into the dynamic world of marketing through a hands-on internship, where you will be tasked with creating a comprehensive portfolio that highlights key marketing processes and campaigns. Your primary goal is to develop skills crucial to representing a brand's values, story, and character through innovative business campaigns. This experiential learning opportunity will deepen your understanding of marketing as you engage with community partners, collaborate with mentors, and present your findings to audiences during milestone events such as the “Festival Del Sol.” Throughout the project, you will self-assess and refine your skills, preparing you for a successful future in the marketing field.

Learning goals

Develop a robust understanding of marketing principles, including skills necessary for campaign creation and execution, through hands-on experiences at your internship. Build effective communication skills by presenting your portfolio and campaigns, receiving feedback, and reflecting on your progress. Engage in critical thinking and problem-solving to address complex marketing challenges presented by the businesses you work with. Collaborate meaningfully with peers, mentors, and community partners to co-design impactful projects and assume leadership roles. Strengthen your academic mindset by reflecting on your growth in understanding business campaign statistics and have your contributions culminate in a public exhibition.

Products

Develop a professional marketing portfolio that showcases the campaigns and business work completed during the internship. Throughout the project, create a detailed magazine that highlights your journey, challenges faced, and the successes of each campaign, reflecting on how these experiences align with the business's values. Include engaging content such as campaign strategies, brand storytelling elements, and statistical analyses of campaign effectiveness.

Launch

Begin your internship experience with a visit to the marketing agency, where you will meet the team and learn about the company's mission, values, and ongoing campaigns. Engage in a brainstorming session with your agency mentor to outline goals for your project, including the creation of a marketing portfolio and campaign. Schedule interviews with experienced marketers within the agency to gain insights into their career journeys and best practices, which will inform your work.

Exhibition

Present your marketing portfolio and campaign projects at the Festival Del Sol exhibition in March, where you will have a platform to showcase your learning journey and professional growth. Share detailed insights about your experience, including challenges overcome and innovative solutions developed during your marketing internship. Include live demonstrations or interactive elements to engage your audience and encourage dialogue about your findings and conclusions with peers and visitors. Display your analytical skills by discussing campaign effectiveness statistics and how they reflect your understanding of the marketing field. Collaborate with your mentor to refine your presentation and ensure you effectively communicate the brand story and values you have crafted throughout the project.
