1 Introduce the day's objective and clarify the documentary prototype iteration process. (20 min)
2 Form small groups to review initial drafts and discuss areas for improvement based on feedback received from peers and mentors. (45 min)
3 Begin editing to incorporate feedback into your low-fidelity storyboard or rough cut. (60 min)
4 Facilitate a focused critique session with a peer group for additional feedback on revisions made. (45 min)
5 Reflect on feedback received during the critique session and make necessary adjustments to your documentary prototype. (60 min)
6 Document the changes in an iteration log, detailing the feedback incorporated and the rationale for revisions. (40 min)
Preparation (1 item)
  • Ensure access to editing software and video footage collected so far. Coordinate with community partners (Brett Spearneck and CVECC) to ensure additional insights or footage can be incorporated as needed.
Student-facing instructions
Your task is to refine your documentary prototype, focusing on incorporating feedback from previous critique sessions. Start by reviewing your initial draft in small groups, discussing improvements, and then editing your documentary based on this feedback. Once edits are complete, participate in a critique session to gather additional insights and make final adjustments. Keep an iteration log to document all changes and reflections on the feedback process.
