Internship Access Concepts
Collaborate in small groups to ideate how a digital platform can improve access to internships, jobs, and volunteer opportunities for San Diego high school students. Begin with direct user contact by conducting brief student conversations to surface needs and constraints, capturing empathy artifacts such as quotes or sketches. Document brainstorming in an idea log with a focus on quantity over quality. Produce 3–5 concept sketches or storyboards that illustrate user journeys through the app or website. Build a Feasibility/Impact matrix evaluating each concept on user benefit, accessibility, required tech, and potential reach. Identify the Top 3 concepts and write concise rationales explaining why they address user needs and how they could be tested with users. This deliverable sets up iterative prototyping and testing in later sessions.
