This project aims to immerse students in the exploration of existential themes through the creative process of BlackOut Poetry, fostering self-discovery and personal growth. By engaging with complex texts from existential writings, students will articulate their understanding of transformation and meaning, reflecting on their own life experiences. The project encourages critical thinking and collaboration, allowing students to express their insights creatively and connect with the broader community through exhibitions and discussions.

Students will explore existential themes through the creation of BlackOut Poetry, enhancing their ability to interpret and transform source texts creatively. They will develop critical thinking skills by analyzing existential motifs and reflecting on personal growth and transformation. The project aims to cultivate self-directed learning and academic mindset, encouraging students to engage in peer feedback and self-reflection to deepen their understanding of personal and universal themes of meaning. Additionally, students will gain insights into the human condition by collaborating with community partners and participating in discussions, workshops, and exhibitions that connect philosophical ideas to real-world applications.

Students will create BlackOut Poetry pieces inspired by existential writings, capturing themes of transformation and personal growth. They will also contribute to a collaborative mural that visually represents key existential themes and insights from their poetry. Additionally, students will develop multimedia presentations that creatively express their understanding of existential motifs through visual and audio elements. These products will be showcased at the 'Existential Art Gala' and 'Transformation & Growth Festival,' allowing students to share their creative journey and reflections with the community.

Kick off the project with a 'Mindful Journey Session' where students engage in guided meditation followed by reflective journaling to connect with their inner thoughts and set intentions for exploring existential themes through poetry. This session will create a calm and focused environment, encouraging students to delve into the philosophical concepts of transformation and growth. By fostering a reflective mindset from the start, students will be primed to approach the creative process with depth and personal insight.

Students will showcase their BlackOut Poetry and collaborative mural at an 'Existential Art Gala', inviting community members, university partners, and families to celebrate their creative journey and personal insights. The gala will feature interactive displays and student-led discussions, allowing guests to explore existential themes and personal growth through the students' artistic expressions. Additionally, a 'Transformation & Growth Festival' will offer workshops led by community partners, where students present their poetry and engage attendees in activities related to existentialism and creative expression.
