# What teachers do
1 Introduction and Setup: Briefly introduce the activity and distribute name tags and 'Job Tags' or hats to assign economic roles. (5 min)
2 Mini-Discussion: Layout key concepts about goods, services, and community dynamics as related to the current activity. (5 min)
3 Group Activity Rotation Start: Initiate activity as Group A becomes Consumers and Group B stands behind stations as Providers. Guide them to apply phonics while reading 'Environmental Sign' posters. (10 min)
4 Role-Switch Break: Students switch roles (Providers become Consumers and vice versa) and engage in the activity again with fresh tasks. Ensure they discuss goods and service transactions. (5 min)
5 Wrap-Up and Share: Conclude the activity by reflecting on what they learned. Gather around to discuss how goods and services were identified and exchanged. Start planning for collaborative mural creation. (5 min)
Preparation (1 item)
  • Prepare and place environmental sign posters in four corners of the room before starting the activity.
Student-facing instructions
You will participate in an interactive activity where you'll take on different roles—either as a provider or consumer. You'll use your phonics skills to read 'Environmental Sign' posters around the room and engage in transactions focusing on goods and services. Your goal is to understand how they each function in a community and visualize it through a collaborative mural. Collectively, these efforts will help you explore new concepts actively and fun.
