This bootcamp introduces high school students to essential skills and knowledge for entering the early childhood education field. Students will participate in industry-specific trainings that provide foundational skills and certifications necessary for entry-level roles in early childhood education. Students will create a digital portfolio that highlights their participation in industry-specific trainings, including evidence from the CPR and Safety Challenge, Mandated Reporter Role Play, and Family Resource Center Collaboration Day. Each student will maintain a reflective journal documenting their personal growth and understanding of child development, reviewed weekly with peer feedback. Additionally, students will develop a personalized career plan during the Career Pathways Exploration Workshop, outlining their goals and steps to prepare for roles in early childhood education. These products will demonstrate their learning journey and readiness to explore employment opportunities in the field.

Begin the bootcamp with an interactive "Early Childhood Education Simulation Day" where students rotate through stations mimicking real-world early childhood settings. Each station presents tasks related to industry-specific trainings, focusing on key child development concepts, safety protocols, and professional responsibilities. Students engage in hands-on activities, collaborate with peers, and receive feedback from instructors and community partners. This immersive experience introduces essential skills and knowledge, setting the stage for further exploration and reflection throughout the bootcamp.

At the conclusion of the bootcamp, students will host a "Future Educators Showcase" where they present their digital portfolios to peers, educators, and community partners. This event will include demonstrations of CPR and AED skills, role-play scenarios on mandated reporting, and insights gained from their collaboration with the Family Resource Center. Students will engage in discussions about their career aspirations in early childhood education, receiving feedback and celebrating their growth and readiness for further training and exploration in the field.
