Purpose

Develop a TikTok series centered on your hobby, showcasing your creativity and passion while strategically planning to transform it into a small business. Focus on understanding and balancing needs versus wants, total costs, and mindful spending, while also considering audience preferences. Utilize data-driven decisions to effectively plan, budget, and create content that resonates with viewers. Engage in experiential learning activities that enhance your financial literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with support from community partners and peers to refine your approach.

Learning goals

Your learning goals for this project include developing financial literacy skills by understanding budgeting, cost management, and making informed financial decisions related to your TikTok series. You will learn to differentiate between needs and wants, track total costs, and practice mindful spending while considering audience preferences. You will enhance your communication skills through visual storytelling and digital presentation tools, creating engaging content that effectively conveys your ideas. Additionally, you will build critical thinking and problem-solving abilities by analyzing feedback and iterating on your TikTok series to attract and retain an audience for your small business.

Products

Create a series of interactive TikTok videos that highlight your hobby while integrating financial literacy lessons, focusing on budgeting and audience engagement. Design visual storytelling elements, such as charts and graphs, to illustrate needs versus wants, total costs, and mindful spending decisions. Develop a comprehensive financial plan using models and digital tools to outline your strategy for managing costs and earnings, considering audience preferences. Share your TikTok series and financial plan in a final exhibition, inviting feedback from peers and community partners, and refine your content based on critique sessions to better attract and retain your audience.

Launch

Begin your project with a 'Budgeting Bootcamp' designed to explore the financial aspects of creating a TikTok series and launching a small business. Participate in interactive stations that simulate budgeting scenarios, including distinguishing between needs and wants, calculating total costs, and making mindful spending decisions. Use data to analyze audience preferences, ensuring your series aligns with both financial goals and viewer interests, establishing a purposeful and strategic approach to your project.

Exhibition

Host a 'Reflection and Celebration Day' where you present your TikTok series, emphasizing the budgeting and target audience aspects. Use interactive displays to show your needs vs. wants, total costs, mindful spending, and audience preferences with data-driven explanations. Share the project journey, highlighting challenges and successes, and invite peers and community partners to provide feedback. Offer refreshments and engage in informal networking to celebrate achievements and gather insights for future improvements.
