Purpose

The purpose of this learning experience is to immerse students in the rich history and culture of Mesoamerican civilizations through project-based activities that foster critical thinking, self-directed learning, and academic mindset. By engaging with community partners and utilizing innovative tools like digital simulations and virtual reality, students will explore the complexities of interregional trade, societal structures, and daily life in ancient Mesoamerica. This approach aims to deepen students' understanding while encouraging them to reflect on their own identities and the relevance of historical narratives in today's world.
